Ingredients
- Water โ 120 ml (1/2 cup)
- Low-sodium soy sauce โ 80 ml (1/3 cup)
- Honey โ 160 ml (2/3 cup)
- Sriracha sauce โ 1 tablespoon
- Garlic cloves, minced โ 4
- Cold water โ 30 ml (2 tablespoons)
- Cornstarch โ 30 g (2 tablespoons)
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts โ 900 g to 1.1 kg (2 to 2.5 pounds)
- Cornstarch โ 120 ml (1/2 cup)
- Oil, for frying โ as needed
- Green onions, sliced โ for garnish
- Sesame seeds โ for garnish
- Cooked rice โ for serving
Cooking Directions
- Prepare the Sauce
In a medium-sized pot, combine water, low-sodium soy sauce, and honey. Add Sriracha sauce and minced garlic. Heat on the stove and stir until the mixture comes to a boil. - Thicken the Sauce
In a separate dish, mix cold water with cornstarch until dissolved. Gradually add this mixture to the pot while stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting and let it simmer. - Prep the Chicken
Cut the boneless chicken breasts into 2.5 cm (1 inch) pieces. Transfer them to a large plastic bag, add cornstarch, seal the bag, and toss until the chicken is evenly coated. - Cook the Chicken
In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, add oil and fry the chicken in batches for a few minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 74ยฐC (165ยฐF). - Combine and Serve
Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken pieces and toss to ensure they’re well coated. Serve hot over a bed of rice, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
