Ingredients
- Olive oil โ 1/2 tablespoon
- Yellow onion โ 1/2 finely diced
- Lean ground beef โ 900 g
- Salt โ 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper โ 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder โ 1 teaspoon
- Mayonnaise โ 60 ml (1/4 cup)
- Medium cheddar cheese โ 170 g shredded
- Medium cheddar cheese slices โ 8 slices
- Dinner rolls โ 24 pack
- Butter โ 28 g (2 tablespoons), melted
- Sesame seeds โ to taste
Steps to Make Your Sliders
- Prep the Beef
Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Stir in the onion for about 30 seconds, then add the ground beef. Break up the beef and season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until the beef is just cooked through, then drain excess fat, if any. Stir in mayonnaise off the heat and set aside. - Prepare the Cheese
Shred cheddar cheese using the large holes of a box grater. Slice other cheese if using extra slices. - Assemble the Sliders
Preheat the oven to 180ยฐC (350ยฐF). Butter the bottom of a rimmed baking sheet. Lay the bottom half of the rolls on the sheet, layer with sliced cheese, then spread the beef. Top with shredded cheese, then place the top half of the buns over it. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds. - Bake and Serve
Bake at 180ยฐC (350ยฐF) for about 15 minutes or until the cheese melts. If refrigerated, bake slightly longer. Slice and serve hot, preferably with sauce and pickles.
